Spider-Man is a 1982 action-adventure, based on the Marvel Comics superhero oft he same name. It was developed by Atari and published by Parker Brothers.
Gameplay[]
Spider-Man must scale a building using his web shooters in order to defuse bombs planted by the Green Goblin. He can move up the building vertically or diagonally. Criminals will be present among the many floors of the building, moving random across the screen. Spider-Man has limited web fluid to utilize as seen by a meter at the bottom of the screen. As time passes, this meter will deplete. Once the meter is fully depleted, Spider-Man will plummet to the ground and a life will be lost. If all lives are lost, the game will conclude.
Spider-Man is able to replenish his web fluid via capturing criminals or defusing bombs. In order to capture criminals, all Spidey has to do is simply come into contact with them. However, if a criminal comes into contact with Spidey's web line, they will cut it and Spidey will start falling. He can save himself with a web line cast in time.
Near the top of this building, the layout changes to show that the Goblin has planted bombs on the support beams of the building. When a bomb is about to explode, it will change its color from red to black. Defusing a red bomb will award the player with more points than a black one.
Upon reaching the top of the structure, Spidey must now face off against the Green Goblin! Goblin has planted a "super bomb", which is ignited upon defeating a set number of enemies and/or defusing a set amount of bombs. Once the super bomb is ignited, Spider-Man must defuse the super bomb while avoiding the Goblin's attack. Once the bomb is defused, the game will move on to a new level which could feature faster and more often appearances of the Goblin, taller buildings, taller support beam sections or a quicker depleting web fluid. The building may also be a different color.
